Roles and Responsibilities
- Pipeline Architecture & Development: Lead the Design and implement physics-based processing pipelines from raw DN to orthorectified, atmospherically corrected imagery that can be scaled.
- Algorithm Design: Develop and optimize algorithms for radiometric calibration (dark current, flat-field, non-uniformity correction, noise reduction), geometric correction (orthorectification, sensor alignment, mosaicking), and atmospheric compensation.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and researchers, guiding them through the design and development of components within the processing pipeline.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with optics, detector, and electronics teams during payload development, calibration campaigns, and in-orbit commissioning.
- Quality Control: Define image quality metrics (SNR, MTF, uniformity) and implement automated QA workflows.
- Research & Innovation: Stay up-to-date on the latest advances in optical remote sensing, image processing technologies, and incorporate innovations into pipeline development.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of the pipeline architecture, algorithms, processes, and development timelines, and report progress to key stakeholders.
